This is our 36th year.
Last year, Framingham Rotary donated over $30,000....
Rotary is synonymous with community service. Local Rotary Clubs work tirelessly to support charities in their areas. In Framingham, proceeds from this auction helped us to donate more than $30,000
to local non-profits and students last year.
All of the Auction's net proceeds are used for humanitarian purposes. Awards are made to programs and services that directly benefit our most needy population.
The effort that goes into producing the Auction is immense. It involves more than 65 Rotarians, their families and friends, and others. Hundreds of businesses and individuals donate goods to be auctioned on live television every year.
This year for the first time we will be offering one or two online boards that will be auctioned off only from our website on the two nights of the live auction.
Organizations and programs that we have supported include:
- Childwatch
- Framingham Civic League
- Framingham Public Schools
- A Place to Turn
- Amazing Things Art Center
- Boy Scouts
- Metrowest YMCA
- The Learning Center for Deaf Children
- Natick Visiting Nurse Association
- N.E. Aftercare Ministries
- Butterworth Project
- Danforth Museum Craft Fair
- Framingham Solutions
- Programs for People
- Jewish Family Services of MetroWest
- MetroWest Latin American Center
- Bay Path Elder Services

Rotary's televised auction reaches cable
viewers throughout Framingham....
Thanks to volunteer services from Comcast, RCN, Verizon and the MetroWest Daily News,
the Auction reaches people across the Metrowest region. Viewers have myriad
opportunities to bid on quality products in a broad range of categories,
from appliances to events tickets and travel. Every donated item is
published in a newspaper circular on the Sunday before the Auction,
and each item is described on air.New last year we have two exclusive online boards.
The items for the online boards (Live Auction) can be seen only online and bidding
takes place only online as well. Verification of purchase and pickup instructions are the same for
the online boards as for the TV boards.
New last year we have added two exclusive online boards.
The items for the online boards (Live Auction) can be seen only online and
bidding takes place only online as well. Verification of purchase and
pickup instructions are the same for the online boards as for the TV boards.
On Auction night, Rotary gets help from numerous organizations and individuals.
All of these supporters review Auction items and learn a bit about our donors.
This exposure adds to televised and printed material and helps ensure that
contributing businesses get broad benefits from participating in a worthy charitable
event. This exposure reaps benefits across the Framingham community.
It's easy to contribute....
Contributing to this year's Auction is as easy as notifying a Rotarian that you have an item to donate and informing him or her when and where to collect it. Gift certificates are also accepted. You can provide your own or ask your Rotarian to produce a form for your business.
Last year, Framingham Rotary advertised and sold more than 400 items. We encourage donors to contribute products with a retail value of at least $100.
We find that the more desirable the item, the more spirited the bidding and the greater the benefit to contributors and benefiting charities alike.
If donors need help in transporting large items, we will gladly help.
Corporate Sponsors....
The auction format provides for selling specific items on numerous boards which are presented in timed segments on the air.
Each board is sponsored by a contributing business or corporation whose logo appears on the screen. We present introductory video messages and the auction host recognizes sponsors numerous times during that time period.
Contributors and Corporate Sponsors benefit too....
Donors receive exposure through our
special pullout section in The MetroWest Daily News which lists each item and a complete auction schedule that includes the name of the donor and the auction time for each item. In addition, there is
pre-auction publicity, pre-bidding and, of course, credit during the broadcast.
If you are interested in sponsoring the 2007 (or future) Auction please contact a Framingham Rotarian promptly. Opportunities in this arena are limited and are sold on a first come, first served basis. Cash contributions are tax deductible.
The Rotary Club will also accept cash donations in smaller amounts. This type of contribution helps limit overhead costs and increases benefits to local charitable groups.
A large number of donors help us year after year. They
recognize and appreciate that participation gives their companies the opportunity to exercise good business citizenship.
Framingham Rotary Charitable Foundation, Inc., the sponsor of the Auction, is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization pursuant to the Rules of the Internal Revenue Service
